A Women-Run Enterprise in Pondicherry
Chris Crafts is a women-run small-scale entrepreneurship registered under Section 58(1) of the Indian Partnership Act, 1932. We are rooted in Lawspet, Puducherry — a small coastal town in South India.
Our mission is simple yet powerful: to bring financial stability among the unemployed and marginalised women community in Pondicherry. Every bag we make carries that purpose forward.

Our Jhola bags are crafted from 100% eco-friendly cotton materials — staying with nature and bringing friendliness to the environment.
Women Empowerment
We train and employ willing housewives from neighbouring communities, giving them the power to earn and meet their daily needs.

Through our bags, we educate and bring awareness in society — blending craft with a message that matters.
How We Work
Our bags are made by willing housewives from the neighbouring communities of Puducherry. They receive special training in tailoring and are then offered employment based on their capability and desire.
The workspace is designed to be flexible — artisans can come in any time from 9:30 AM onwards, working at their own pace. Remuneration is paid per piece, so every woman balances family life with the freedom to earn as much as she chooses.
This earning gives them a voice in their family and the ability to meet their basic everyday needs — one bag at a time.
